Vine ripened muscatels are the perfect accompaniment for any cheese board
The grapes are left on the vine to age and shrivel up, thus concentrating the moisture to a rich sweet syrup that give the muscatels their rich concentrated flavour and darker colour. A popular product with the bird life, timing the harvest was always a bit of a gamble. The introduction of vine netting now allows a more consistant supply. They are still a seasonal product and are not always available.
